BARRICADE
Zinc Coins
AVM GALLERY
PARIS
"The pieces of zinc that make up the barricades all come from my roof. When I moved into my workshop over twenty years ago, they were dismantled and stored in the storeroom.
For the "Crossing" exhibition in China, I chose them for an installation on punctuation marks."

Around the landscape
The landscape, its metamorphoses, its fragility and power, its colorful diurnal diversity exerts a constantly renewed fascination. The fear of its anger, its natural dissolution and the modifications caused by man nourish my reflection. This theme remains constant in my work and forms the framework of several of these series.
An approach to the body
The body, reconstituted by the imprint of a bust from the back, is imprinted with ink on old scraps of torn fabric. Then, by dissolving, this body inscribes the shadow of what it was, the ephemeral trace of its passage and its annihilation and, hesitating on the threshold to cross, leaves the spectator to decide the choice of his destiny.
Signs and letters
Signs and letters, punctuation and writing, alphabets—everything that seems to allow a semblance of communication and written transmission—interrogates me. I use all these codes and scramble them, making them construct kinds of landscapes and anthropomorphic figures. The issue of writing crosses that of the body and that of the landscape.
